NEW: Biden calls to ‘end discrimination’ against ‘transgender children’ after Democrats spread false narrative about Nex Benedict’s death

On Thursday, Joe Biden released a statement offering his condolences to the family of Dagny "Nex" Benedict, the 16-year-old transgender Oklahoma high school student who died last month.

Benedict's death was recently ruled a suicide by a medical examiner, contradicting claims made by many that the teen had passed away as the result of a hate-fueled beating carried out by fellow students.

"Jill and I are heartbroken by the recent loss of Nex Benedict," the statement began. "Every young person deserves to have the fundamental right and freedom to be who they are, and feel safe and supported at school and in their communities. Nex Benedict, a kid who just wanted to be accepted, should still be here with us today."
