"The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience. Now, the silence around it feels heavy," Trump said. "I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech. There is definitely more to this story and we need to uncover the truth." 2024 GOP presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump was struck in the ear by the 20-year-old gunman, two attendees were injured, and one attendee, former fire chief Corey Comperatore, was killed as he shielded his family from the gunfire.
