Charlie Kirk shooting suspect in custody: Trump

President Donald Trump announced Friday morning that law enforcement has a suspect in custody following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

During an interview on Fox News, Trump said, “I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him — in custody … everyone did a great job we worked with the local police, the governor, everybody did a great job.”

NBC News reported that senior law enforcement officials identified the suspect in custody as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah. However, authorities have yet to publicly confirm the suspect’s name.

The New York Times is reporting the suspect was taken into custody in St. George, Utah, near Zion National Park, approximately 250 miles southwest of where Kirk was killed.
