On Sunday, Democrats hauled in close to $50 million in online donations, the single biggest day for contributions to the party since the 2020 election, according to NBCNews.
An analysis of ActBlue, the top site for processing Democratic donations, showed that after Joe Biden dropped out of the race via a post on X, momentum for Kamala Harris was building, with donations spiking from an average of less than $200,000 per hour before the letter revealing Biden's declination to continue the race, to $7.5 million in an hour later on Sunday following the announcement and subsequent endorsement of Harris.
Democratic strategist Kenneth Pennington posted on X, “This might be the greatest fundraising moment in Democratic Party history.”
