The Trump campaign is denying reports of an altercation between campaign staffers and an official at Arlington National Cemetery. Multiple news outlets citing unnamed sources reported staffers pushed a cemetery official on Aug. 26. Trump was attending a ceremony with relatives of the 13 U.S. troops killed in the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.
A spokesman for the Trump campaign told The Epoch Times in an email there was no physical altercation as described. He says the campaign is prepared to release footage if defamatory claims are made.
The FBI released photos of items recovered from the scene of Trump’s assassination attempt. That included images of the gunman’s rifle and backpack. The agency says the gunman’s motive is still unclear, but his online search history revealed a quote, “sustained, detailed effort to plan an attack on some event.”
