House Speaker Mike Johnson went to New York on Tuesday to show his support for President Donald Trump as he faces a criminal trial at the hands of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg. Johnson spoke to the press in support of Trump and called the whole thing a "sham" of a trial. He spoke outside because he was not permitted to speak from inside the courthouse. Johnson began the statement, saying, "President Trump is a friend, and I'm here to support him."
"I'm here speaking with you inside because the court will not allow us to speak inside the building. That's just one of the many things wrong here."
