Trump may ‘get the largest share of the Jewish vote ever’ for GOP: pollster

The Republican Party and former President Donald Trump could see support from a record number of Jewish voters this election cycle. Trump campaign pollster John McLaughlin told The New York post, “President Trump has a chance to get the largest share of the Jewish vote ever. Antisemitism is a real issue.”

In the past, Democrats running for president have received approximately 70 percent or more of the Jewish vote. Republican former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Dwight Eisenhower managed to win roughly 40 percent of the vote in their races.

According to McLaughlin, rising antisemitism and progressive Democrats’ hostility toward Israel are fueling the increase in Jewish support for the GOP in battleground states including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona and Georgia. He also speculated that the increase could help candidates in down-ballot races and even a small shift could affect the Electoral College, since President Joe Biden won those states by only 3 percent or less in 2020.

In addition to the pattern, “Squad” members Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) have lost their primary elections in their respective states.
