Trump praises Musk's 'force of super-geniuses' seen entering the IRS as DOGE sets next target

President Donald Trump praised Elon Musk and his army of 'super-geniuses' at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as they investigate the federal government for waste and fraud. 

DOGE lieutenant Gavin Kliger and other employees arrived at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on Thursday to examine the agency's operations. 

'I think the Internal Revenue Service will be looked at like everybody else,' Trump said during remarks in the Oval Office. 

He clarified that he did not expect to close the IRS, but wanted DOGE to scrutinize the department's spending.   

'They're doing a hell of a job, it's an amazing job they're doing,' Trump said. 'You know that force is building, I call it the force of super-geniuses,' he said.
