President Donald Trump said Saturday that he will soon review Iran's latest proposal to the United States to end the war between the two countries, reiterating his sentiment from the previous day that Iran had not yet "paid a big enough price."
“I will soon be reviewing the plan that Iran has just sent to us, but can’t imagine that it would be acceptable in that they have not yet paid a big enough price for what they have done to Humanity, and the World, over the last 47 years," the Republican president posted on social media on Saturday evening.
His statement came as the fragile ceasefire appears to still be holding despite the U.S. and Iran being locked in a standoff over the Strait of Hormuz, keeping the global economy under pressure.
